Oh my god, I got the same fine today! It’s the first time I’ve ever been there and I parked completely normally but got a $120 fine for “Not position front/rear of vehicle correctly - 90 degree angle parking”. I don’t even understand WHY I got this fine? What a joke. I was completely in the middle of the 2 lines, between 2 cars parked the same way.

Got the sane fine 116 for not parking 90 degree, i already parked my car between the two lines but it might be tilted abit. It seems to be the misuse of the law to gain money and not enouraging people to do the right act. Totally surprised and annoyed

Visited this centre yesterday, on a first day of the school holidays. Got a $114 fine for "Not position front/rear of vehicle correctly - 90 degree angle parking".I am 100% sure I parked 90 degree as I DID repark to stay align. It was completely and absolutely full on that hot school holiday day, so I had no chances to park anyhow else, but only align. Do not understand if I was supposed to park REAR and not front?? Cannot find the parking rules anywhere on the council page or anywhere else. The image of the street on googlemaps shows cars parking both way - front and rear. After all, what is the difference and the meaning of the requirement to be REAR parked? Our local aquatic centre at West Pymble allows to park both way and we have no issues with it whatsoever. Does that the Ryde council try to earn money doing nothing? This is a robbery and very nasty act. Disgusted.

Parking In Crows Nest

There are a number of good council provided car parks (Holterman St, Nicholson St and Hume St),  that offer 2 hours free parking in Crows Nest and then reasonable rates after that. The Alexander st car park is under redevelopment currently and is not expected to open again until 2016.

Most street parking is metered during business hours and Saturday mornings. There are unmetered 2 hour parking spots a short distance from the centre of crows nest but very few all day spots on the street.
